My Years in the Old Forge School District by Mr. Lehmkuhl

I started in the Old Forge School District in 1972. Until January of 1990
I thought music. In 1976 and 1977 I was the high school band director and
the all the other years I either thought all music classes or had the elementary band.
During 76-77 we had a high school band of over 50 playing members on the
field. During my years with the elementary band we had over 90 members.
These numbers represent the biggest bands Old Forge had since the middle
1950s. In the middle of the school year,
Jan 1990, I was forced to transfer to the classroom and teach 4th grade. I
really miss teaching music especially the band and the great concerts we
performed. Over time I learned to adapt to the classroom and hope I have
influenced some my students in a positive manner. My years in 4th grade have
provided me with experiences that can not be duplicated. I put this part of
the web page up with the wish that we could all share some fond memories,
enjoy! If you have some photos that would fit into this page please get them to me. I'm thinking of adding a page to make a list of where everyone is and what they're doing.
